4 Fabulous Design-Build Trends You'll Want to Incorporate into Your Own Home

Interior designers often use trends as inspiration, focusing instead on timeless and personalized style rather than fleeting fads. Here are some design trends we’re predicting for 2025. Don’t be surprised—many of these are enduring design elements that have stood the test of time. Sometimes, what seems new is actually classic.

no 1: Painting the walls, ceiling and trim the same color

For years, it’s been a staple in interior design, but it’s time to reconsider! White trim with contrasting wall colors is on its way out, often giving a dated, unpolished look—especially when paired with colors like gray. Embracing a more cohesive, streamlined color palette brings a fresh, modern touch to any space.

no 2: The New Neutrals

Taupe-y ivories and creams are leading the warm neutral revolution, creating cozy, inviting spaces that feel both modern and timeless. These shades pair beautifully with natural textures like wood, stone, and linen, adding depth and sophistication to any room.

no. 3: The New 90’s

Design trends like natural oak, beige, lime wash, and travertine are making a lasting impact and are more stylish than ever. These elements bring warmth, texture, and timeless appeal to any space.

no.4: Natural, timeless design philosophies

Styles like Quiet Luxury, Wabi Sabi, and Japandi are so rooted in timeless principles that they feel both ancient and modern, remaining effortlessly stylish through the years.

On the flip side, here are a few of the major items you won’t see in new builds this year. Cottage Core + Maximalism, bold colors and patterns, 2010 design fads such as white kitchen cabinets, the modern farmhouse, and millennial grey color palettes. We will also see the retreat from the following trends, “man caves”, over stuffed recliners and, dupes and knock-offs.

Opting for trendy designs over classic, timeless elements can quickly lead to design fatigue, as these looks become overly familiar and lose their appeal.
